Come on in! My name is Kathy Wicker. I am a southern lady, I mean really southern … Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have three children that are all independent adults. And I consider that one of my greatest accomplishments. I have three of the grandest grands on the planet. They live in Philadelphia so I am now airport, train and Uber savvy!
Nursing has been my lifelong profession. I am now winding down after 46 years. From bedside to Operating Room to Case Management, I’ve had some great assignments and made so many friends along the way. Why, I even took a risk and moved to northern Virginia for a couple of years and made even more friends! Guess you could say I haven’t had problems with change or meeting people.
It’s time I’ve begun to embark on a new venture … traveling, baking and memory making. Facing sundown helps expedite working that bucket list. I’ve traveled with family and friends. For the last few years I’ve journaled the trips and highlighted the events that amused me.
Flour is my best friend … add sugar, and that’s a winning combination. There’s nothing better than curling up with a good cookbook and reading until I find that one recipe that screams “TRY ME!” But my best baking recipes have come from friends and family. So nostalgic memories may accompany some of those recipes. Please don’t think everything comes out perfect because I’ve had many epic fails. As they say: “try, try again.” My Momma was one of the greatest bakers I ever knew. Her desserts were oftentimes not picture perfect but so mouth watering.
I hope you enjoy your visit. While you’re here, be sure to leave great comments and feedback. And y’all come back now, ya hear?
